Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.08% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 1.45 per cent), Mindtree(up 1.33 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 1.12 per cent), Coforge(up 0.65 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.

L&T Technology(down 1.74 per cent), Infosys(down 0.88 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.38 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.08 per cent at 29728.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 22.85 points at 16638.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 130.65 points at 55795.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zomato Ltd., Suzlon Energy, Adani Power and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Uravi T and Wedge, Foce India Ltd., Voltamp Trans, Fine Organic Ind. and VRL Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Indo Borax Chem, SVP Global, Nath Bio-Genes , Timescan Logistics(India)Ltd. and Dynemic Product hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
