Oriental Trimex(up 2.04%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.67%), MOIL(up 1.55%), Coal India(up 1.55%), Aro Granite Industries(up 0.97%) and Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.21%) stood among the top gainers.
Pokarna(down 4.58%), Ashapura Minechem(down 3.72%), KIOCL(down 3.39%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 1.83%), 20 Microns(down 0.82%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.45%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 44.6 points up at 17648.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 169.51 points at 59500.41.
Adani Enterprises(up 4.76%), Bajaj Finance(up 4.53%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.56%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.26%), HCL Technologies(up 1.72%), Asian Paints(up 1.6%), Coal India(up 1.55%), NTPC(up 1.53%), Infosys(up 1.29%) and Grasim Industries(up 1.28%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 3.38%), JSW Steel(down 2.72%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.45%), Bajaj Auto(down 2.43%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.17%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.86%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.68%), Tata Steel(down 1.57%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.39%) and SBI Life(down 1.34%) closed in the red.
