Stock market update: Nifty Media index rises over 1%; PVR jumps 4%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Media index was trading on a positive note at 12:12PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of PVR (up 4.35 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 2.58 per cent), Inox Leisure (up 2.29 per cent), DB Corp (up 1.12 per cent) and Jagran Prakashan (up 0.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Dish TV India (down 3.35 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (down 1.23 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (down 0.58 per cent), Sun TV Network (down 0.26 per cent) and TV Today Network (down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.47 per cent up at 1664.75 around 12:12PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 112.75 points at 11672.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 422.51 points at 39535.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, Federal Bank and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Coromandel Int., Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd., Central Depository Services (India) Ltd., GMR Infra and Hathway Cable hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade.
