Share market update: Nifty Metal index flat; Hindustan Zinc loses 1%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Metal index was trading flat on Monday's morning session.

Shares of Hindustan Zinc (down 1.38 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (down 0.7 per cent), Hindalco Industries (down 0.56 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (down 0.3 per cent) and NMDC Ltd (down 0.17 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Mishra Dhatu Nigam (up 3.59 per cent), Welspun Corp (up 2.04 per cent), Ratnamani Metals & Tubes (up 0.92 per cent), MOIL (up 0.91 per cent) and Hindustan Copper (up 0.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.16 per cent up at 2318.0 around 11:50AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 115.95 points at 11330.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 363.74 points at 38404.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, BEL, BHEL and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
