Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.52% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:25AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Hero MotoCorp(up 1.58 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.66 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.43 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 2.46 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 1.65 per cent), Escorts(down 1.64 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.59 per cent) and Bharat Forge(down 1.05 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.52 per cent at 10916.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 171.0 points at 15467.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 506.12 points at 52025.95.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, IDFC First Bank, Zomato Ltd. and RBL Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Regency Ceramic, Rachana Infrastructure Ltd., Globe Intl. Carriers, Kohinoor Foods and Globesecure Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JSPL, UPL, Dhanvarsha Finvest, Future Consumer and Dhani Ibull Ventures hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
