Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.47%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Phoenix Mills(up 3.86 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 3.32 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 2.71 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 2.23 per cent) and DLF(up 1.25 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Macrotech Developers(down 1.71 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises(down 0.81 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.47 per cent up at 455.45.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 82.5 points at 17522.45, while the BSE Sensex stood down 310.71 points at 58774.72.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 ended in the green, while 33 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, RBL Bank, BHEL, PNB and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Total Transport Sys, SKP Bearing Industries Ltd., Rachana Infrastructure Ltd., Time Technoplast and Lumax Auto Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Manav Infra Projects, Veekayem Fashion & Apparels Ltd., GVK Power Infra, Gujarat Apollo and IMP Powers Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows.
