Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 09:59AM

20 Microns(up 2.48%), KIOCL(up 1.54%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.04%), Pokarna(up 0.77%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.63%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.45%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.44%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem(down 2.14%), MOIL(down 0.70%) and Coal India(down 0.22%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 6.2 points up at 18203.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 6.9 points at 61174.69 at around 09:59AM.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 3.1%), Bajaj Finance(up 1.29%), Axis Bank(up 0.67%), Tata Motors(up 0.61%), State Bank of India(up 0.58%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.57%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.57%), Cipla(up 0.51%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.49%) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.45%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.13%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.92%), JSW Steel(down 0.62%), Tata Steel(down 0.46%), Reliance Industries(down 0.46%), ITC(down 0.41%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.39%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.33%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.32%) and Britannia Industries(down 0.32%) were trading in the red.
