Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.27% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:19AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.84 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.72 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(down 1.21 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.2 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.82 per cent), Bosch(down 0.7 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(down 0.62 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.27 per cent at 11388.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 201.9 points at 16276.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 721.84 points at 54598.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, Zomato Ltd., SAIL and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Marathon Nextgen, Tree House Edu, Bombay Metrics Supply Chain Ltd., Hindustan Motor and Global Education hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tembo Global Indust, Vaxtex Cotfab, Rollatainers Ltd, Medplus Health Services Ltd. and Vakrangee hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
