Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty ended 55.3 points up at 18618.05, while the BSE Sensex closed 177.04 points up at 62681.84.
On the other hand, SBC Exports, Rite Zone Chemcon India Ltd., Chembond Chem, Mohini Health & Hygi and Accelya Solutions stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.
In the Nifty 50 index, HUL, JSW Steel, Cipla, Britannia and Hero MotoCorp were among the top gainers on the NSE in the today's trade.
Meanwhile, IndusInd Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Coal India Ltd, Power Grid and Maruti Suzuki were among the top losers of the day.
