Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.38% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:21AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Tech Mahindra(up 0.93 per cent), Wipro(up 0.25 per cent) and MPhasis(up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

L&T Technology(down 3.84 per cent), Infosys(down 0.82 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.48 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.41 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.38 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.38 per cent at 28206.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 98.6 points at 17585.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 371.95 points at 59332.55.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, PNB, BHEL, YES Bank and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Wonder Fibromats, Electronics Mart India Ltd., SecUR Credentials, Ace Integrated Solut and Madhya Bharat Agro hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Aarti Inds, Akshar Spintex, BKM Industries, C&C Construct and Alok Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
