Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.08% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:04AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Granules India(up 0.93 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.79 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 0.65 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 0.64 per cent) and Cipla(up 0.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.68 per cent), Lupin(down 0.56 per cent), Laurus(down 0.48 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.44 per cent) and Biocon(down 0.42 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.08 per cent at 12859.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 59.0 points at 18619.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 207.82 points at 62618.5.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Central Bank, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and UCO Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dharmaj Crop Guard Ltd., HEC Infra Projects, B&B Triplewall Conta, Adroit Infotech and B L Kashyap hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Osia Hyper Retail, Vital Chemtech Ltd., Future Consumer and Supreme Engineering hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
