Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Friday at 10:24AM

Varun Beverages(up 0.53%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.52%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.27%), DFM Foods(up 0.19%) and Britannia Industries(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group(down 3.13%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.93%), Umang Dairies(down 2.90%), Parag Milk(down 2.60%), Dangee Dums(down 2.49%), Prataap Snacks(down 2.05%), Hindustan Foods(down 2.01%), ADF Foods(down 1.62%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 1.46%) and Bajaj Consumer(down 1.40%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 193.25 points down at 17698.7, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 711.04 points at 59494.02 at around 10:24AM.

Bajaj Auto(up 6.52%), Tata Motors(up 5.95%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 3.07%), Cipla(up 2.25%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.39%), ITC(up 1.33%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.9%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.76%), UPL Ltd(up 0.66%) and HCL Technologies(up 0.65%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 4.21%), Adani Enterprises(down 3.2%), ICICI Bank(down 2.92%), HDFC(down 2.83%), Coal India(down 2.43%), HDFC Bank(down 2.43%), State Bank of India(down 2.24%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.2%), Asian Paints(down 2.08%) and Axis Bank(down 2.08%) were trading in the red.
