Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.68% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:10AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 0.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra(down 1.73 per cent), Coforge(down 1.59 per cent), L&T Technology(down 1.17 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 1.07 per cent) and Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 0.92 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.68 per cent at 27947.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 0.15 points at 15798.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 68.09 points at 53095.06.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, Indian Oil Corp., ONGC and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Orient Bell, Ratnamani Metal, Global Education, Kohinoor Foods and Axita Cotton hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rollatainers Ltd, Lasa Supergenerics, HEC Infra Projects, RateGain Travel Technologies Ltd. and Hindustan Media hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
