Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.05% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 0.54 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.44 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 0.27 per cent), Wipro(up 0.1 per cent) and Coforge(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Mindtree(down 1.88 per cent), MPhasis(down 1.63 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(down 1.61 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.44 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.32 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.05 per cent at 28737.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 74.7 points at 17731.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 224.93 points at 59768.89.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Tata Steel, RBL Bank, PNB and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Nalwa Sons Invst, Bharat Bijlee, Varanium Cloud Ltd., DC Infotech and Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NMDC, Gland Pharma, Phantom Digital Effects Ltd., Mega Flex Plastics Ltd. and Akshar Spintex hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
