Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Sikko Industries(up 7.74%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 2.76%), Aries Agro(up 2.03%) and Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 0.98%) stood among the top gainers.

Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 5.65%), Madras Fertlizers(down 5.44%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(down 5.15%), Agro Phos(down 4.96%), KRISHANA(down 3.92%), National Fertilizer(down 3.44%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 3.21%), ZUARIAGRO(down 3.17%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 3.00%) and Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 2.78%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 225.5 points down at 15413.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 709.54 points at 51822.53.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.56%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.01%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.34%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.14%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.03%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries(down 6.72%), UPL Ltd(down 6.2%), Tata Steel(down 5.28%), JSW Steel(down 4.48%), Wipro(down 3.27%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 3.06%), Reliance Industries(down 3.04%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 3.02%), Coal India(down 2.95%) and Bajaj Finserv(down 2.68%) closed in the red.
