Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.21% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Punjab National Bank(up 3.93 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.96 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.79 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 0.4 per cent) and IDFCBANK(up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

HDFC Bank(down 1.05 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 1.04 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.9 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.49 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.21 per cent at 42346.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 124.7 points at 18182.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 426.87 points at 61236.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, UCO Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Zomato Ltd. and Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Skipper Ltd, UCO Bank, Archean Chemical Industries Ltd., Bank of Maharashtra and Five-Star Business Finance Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Arshiya, Suumaya Lifestyle, SS Infrastructure, Jet Airways and Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
