Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Monday at 10:29AM

MOIL(up 3.85%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.50%), Oriental Trimex(up 2.42%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.71%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 1.53%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 1.26%), 20 Microns(up 1.04%) and Coal India(up 0.89%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 2.78%), KIOCL(down 1.60%), Pokarna(down 1.17%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.78%) and Aro Granite Industries(down 0.72%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 53.45 points up at 18158.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 203.76 points at 61044.5 at around 10:29AM.

Tata Steel(up 3.91%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.43%), Tata Motors(up 1.5%), ICICI Bank(up 1.35%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.26%), NTPC(up 1.08%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.0%), Coal India(up 0.89%), Grasim Industries(up 0.72%) and Axis Bank(up 0.71%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 2.53%), Asian Paints(down 1.62%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.94%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.93%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.88%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.87%), Cipla(down 0.64%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.62%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.51%) and HCL Technologies(down 0.5%) were trading in the red.
