Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.27% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

Gland Pharma(up 1.39 per cent), Abbott India(up 1.33 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.03 per cent), Granules India(up 0.71 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.38 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Cipla(down 2.64 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(down 1.56 per cent), Laurus(down 1.36 per cent), Biocon(down 1.16 per cent) and Divis Laboratories(down 1.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.27 per cent at 12731.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 34.4 points at 17948.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 147.67 points at 60263.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, IOB, Suzlon Energy, PNB and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Generic Engg, Indiabulls Enterprises Ltd., Sky Gold, Ponni Sugars and 3P Land Holdings hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Jyoti Structure, Nureca Ltd., Parenteral Drug, Educomp Sols. and Sintex Inds. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
