Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.31% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Eicher Motors(up 1.42 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.36 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.16 per cent), TIINDIA(up 1.0 per cent) and Escorts Kubota(up 0.96 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 1.65 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 0.64 per cent), MRF(down 0.39 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.3 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.31 per cent at 13264.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 83.95 points at 17634.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 291.24 points at 59165.54.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, PNB and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Brand Concepts L, Servotech Power Syst, Remsons Ind, Autoline Ind and AVG Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, Kopran Ltd, Finolex Inds., Zensar Tech and Hind Oil Expl hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
