Billionaire Gautam Adani, the richest man in India and Asia, turned 60 on Friday.
His son Karan Adani, CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ, penned an emotional note for his dad dearest on his special day.

In a Twitter post on Friday evening, the 35-year-old said that the Adani Group Chairman amazes him every year with his passion and energy for life. He said he learns something new with each experience he shares with his father.

"Wish you a very happy birthday dad! ... You are the foundation that keeps our family together. Love you loads," his caption read.

The Adani Airport Holdings Director also shared an image of himself with his father and younger brother Jeet from one of their family vacations.

In less than 24 hours, the post was retweeted and quote-tweeted more than 100 times. It has more than 3,000 likes.

The billionaire's 60th birthday coincides with his late father Shantilal Adani's centenary birth anniversary.

A day before their respective birthdays, the philanthropist announced on Thursday that he and his family have committed to donating Rs 60,000 crore to charity.

The donation, which will be managed by Adani Foundation, has been made for healthcare, education and skill-development across India. "Contribution to help build an equitable, future-ready India," Adani wrote in his Twitter post.

Sharing his father's post on Twitter, Adani Jr said that it was the perfect time to announce the charity.

"This promise expresses our commitment to the millions of Indians who have ambitions and hopes for a better future. This couldn't have come at a better time. I wish you a wonderful 60th birthday Dad! Every day, it is an honour to learn from you," his post said.

According to Adani Foundation, focusing on healthcare, education, and skill development can expand the potential of every Indian since shortfalls in these areas have been major roadblocks for an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.

Over the years, the Priti Adani-led foundation has responded to society's changing needs in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - be it sustainable livelihoods, health and nutrition, and education for all or addressing environmental concerns - with an enhanced focus on the empowerment of women, working with multiple stakeholders at the grassroots. Today, it covers 3.7 million people in 2,409 villages across 16 states in India.

Meanwhile, Penguin Random House (PRHI) announced on Monday that a biography on the industrialist, written by journalist-author RN Bhaskar, will hit the stands in October. The book, titled 'Gautam Adani: The Man Who Changed India', will bring to light, for the first time, the unknown aspects of India and Asia's one of the richest men.

Currently, Adani holds the sixth position on the Forbes Real-Time Billionaires list with a net worth of more than $98 billion, almost four places higher than Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani who is at the 10th spot with a net worth of $92.4 billion. This makes Adani the richest man in India and Asia.

Adani crosses the wealth of Oracle Corporation's Larry Ellison ($97.6 billion) at 7, Google's Sergey Brin ($97.5 billion) at 8 and philanthropist Warren Buffett ($96.6 billion) of Berkshire Hathaway at 9.
