Priyanka Chopra will be attending the much-awaited Met Gala in New York, next Monday (May 1).
The ‘Barfi’ actress confirmed the good news during the screening of her upcoming web series ‘Citadel’ in the US, during an interview with the Variety magazine. While she did not give away the key details of her test, she nevertheless hinted that her outfit would be as per the theme of the Met Gala this year.
Journalist Marc Malkin, who interviewed the ‘desi girl’, tweeted that the ‘Citadel’ actress will indeed be making a glorious appearance at the event. “Confirmed! Priyanka Chopra just told me she will be at the Met Gala on Monday. Says her look 'will be on theme' because she loves a theme, but it will also have a 'special element'." Several fans of the star flooded the comment section, rejoicing at the fact that she would continue to make a splash at the event. One Twitter user wrote, “Yaaas. She always serves the look and stays true to the theme." Another commented, “Love her. Taking the world by storm. Desi girl."
The event has always been described as fashion’s biggest night out. According to reports, this year’s Met Gala will be a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic German fashion designer who died in 2019, at the age of 85.
This will be the ‘Mary Kom’ star’s fourth appearance at the event. She debuted in 2017 and has since then been a part of the guest list in 2018 and 2019.
On the work front, both Chopra as well as Bhatt are expected to star in the drama ‘Jee Le Zara’. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, the movie will also feature Katrina Kaif as part of the girl gang. The movie is rumoured to be a road film just like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. The movie also marks Chopra’s return to Bollywood.
