Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.76% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:29AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 2.22 per cent), L&T Technology(up 2.03 per cent), MPhasis(up 1.8 per cent), Mindtree(up 1.35 per cent) and Coforge(up 1.17 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra(down 0.83 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.76 per cent at 29484.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 22.1 points at 16544.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 146.25 points at 55527.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Adani Power, Vodafone Idea, Shree Ren Sug and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Raymond, Fine Organic Ind., J Kumar Infra, Standard Ind and ICE Make Refr hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, Future Retail, Bafna Pharma, Future Enterprises and Moksh Ornaments Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
