Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.89%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers(up 5.07 per cent), DLF(up 2.34 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 1.91 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 1.87 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 1.51 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Prestige Estates Projects(down 1.23 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.89 per cent up at 404.25.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 60.1 points at 16356.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 214.85 points at 54892.49.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.

Shares of MRPL, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, TV18 Broadcast and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of MRPL, Global Education, Vadilal Ind, Hindustan Motor and Zenith Birla hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shigan Quantum Technologies Ltd., Aptus Value Housing, Richa Info Systems Ltd., MITCON Const & Engg. and Hikal Ltd hit their fresh 52-week lows.
