Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.49% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 09:59AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

Federal Bank(up 3.09 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 1.94 per cent), IndusInd Bank(up 1.85 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.25 per cent) and IDFCBANK(up 1.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

HDFC Bank(down 0.99 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.49 per cent at 34851.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 114.4 points at 16163.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 377.24 points at 54138.02.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BEL, YES Bank, Zomato Ltd. and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dynemic Product(PP), Orient Bell, BEL, International Constructions Ltd. and PC Jeweller hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Suumaya Lifestyle, Karda Const, Bombay Rayon, Metalyst Forgings and Compuage Infocom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
