Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.66% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:19AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

TIINDIA(up 4.38 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.59 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.26 per cent), MRF(up 1.08 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 1.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Hero MotoCorp(down 1.15 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.3 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 0.27 per cent) and Bosch(down 0.17 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.66 per cent at 12612.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 44.1 points at 16963.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 128.97 points at 56978.55.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Shree Ren Sug, Vodafone Idea, PNB and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Airo Lam, Liberty Shoes, Silly Monks Entertai, Kshitij Polyline and ICE Make Refr hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd., Dhanvarsha Finvest, FutureLifestyleFash, Mercator and Varanium Cloud Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
