Stock market update: Auto stocks fall; TVS Motors down 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading on a negative note at 12:30PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of TVS Motor Company (down 1.7 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 1.64 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.17 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.05 per cent) and Eicher Motors (down 0.53 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Tata Motors (up 1.43 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.82 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.74 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.56 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.06 per cent down at 7898.3 around 12:30PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 135.70 points at 11413.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 553.11 points at 38747.03.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of RIL (PP), RIL, Hathway Cable, Granules India and Asian Paints hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade.
