Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.19% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Federal Bank(up 0.98 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 0.59 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.4 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.11 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.

AU Small Finance Bank(down 2.44 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 1.58 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 1.02 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.95 per cent) and HDFC Bank(down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.19 per cent at 42452.5 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 31.0 points at 18378.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 70.42 points at 61910.3.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., YES Bank, PayTM, HUDCO and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bohra Industries, Chembond Chem, Foods & Inns, Giriraj Civil Devolp and Ace Integrated Solut hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SREI Infra Fin, Rite Zone Chemcon India Ltd., Vivo Collaboration Solutions Ltd., Premier Ltd and Sadbhav Eng hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
