Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Thursday's session.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 4.85%), Bohra Industries(up 3.53%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 2.97%), National Fertilizer(up 2.12%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 0.67%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 0.44%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 0.12%) stood among the top gainers.

Aries Agro(down 3.50%), Agro Phos(down 3.29%), Rama Phosphates(down 2.39%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 2.03%), G S F C(down 1.93%), Sikko Industries(down 1.28%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.06%), Coromandel International(down 0.95%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 0.83%) and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 0.62%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 37.5 points down at 17858.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 147.47 points at 59958.03.

SBI Life(up 1.89%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.87%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.62%), HCL Technologies(up 1.6%), Cipla(up 1.29%), JSW Steel(up 1.23%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.14%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.02%), Bajaj Auto(up 0.91%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.73%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 3.11%), Reliance Industries(down 2.16%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.11%), Axis Bank(down 1.5%), Tata Motors(down 1.42%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.24%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.13%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.08%), Eicher Motors(down 1.08%) and Bajaj Finserv(down 0.85%) closed in the red.
