Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.46% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

TVS Motor Company(up 3.51 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.76 per cent), Tata Motors(up 1.62 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.41 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(up 1.38 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Escorts Kubota(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 1.46 per cent at 12745.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 190.4 points at 17502.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 648.33 points at 59059.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 45 were trading in the green, while 5 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Motherson Sumi, Vodafone Idea, PNB and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tapi Fruit Processing Ltd., Electronics Mart India Ltd., Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd., Atlanta Ltd and Data Patterns(India)Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Motherson Sumi, Akshar Spintex, BKM Industries, Omkar Speciality and C&C Construct hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
