Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.19% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Tata Consultancy(up 0.71 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.68 per cent), Persistent Systems(up 0.53 per cent), Infosys(up 0.39 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra(down 0.7 per cent), Coforge(down 0.58 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.42 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.31 per cent) and MPhasis(down 0.07 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.19 per cent at 30624.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 61.25 points at 17671.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 409.54 points at 60341.78.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, PNB, Vodafone Idea, Adani Ports SEZ and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of NDR Auto Components, Aegis Logistics, RBM Infracon Ltd., Mold Tek Tech and Maan Aluminium hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adani Ent., S H Kelkar & Co., Adani Transmission, Adani Green and Crompton Greaves hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
