Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.23% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:49AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Coforge(up 2.32 per cent), Mindtree(up 1.44 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.93 per cent), L&T Technology(up 0.79 per cent) and Tech Mahindra(up 0.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Wipro(down 0.84 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.23 per cent at 29825.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 167.75 points at 15975.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 499.93 points at 53430.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, RBL Bank, PNB and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of IRIS Clothings, Avro India, Silver Touch Tech, Impex Ferro Tech and Kohinoor Foods hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Indus Towers, Oracle, Honeywell, E2E Networks and Starteck Finance hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
