Today is the 67th day of India’s nationwide lockdown meant to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. The government has extended the lockdown in containment zones till June 30.
Confirmed COVID-19 cases in India stand at 1,73,763 . The death toll from the outbreak in India is at 4,971. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases.

A record single-day spike of 1,163 fresh cases took the COVID-19 tally in Delhi to over 18,000 today and the death toll due to the disease mounted to 416, authorities said.
The previous daily high in fresh cases -- 1,106 -- was recorded on May 29.
This is the second consecutive day in Delhi when over 1,100 COVID-19 cases have been reported.
In a bulletin issued today, the Delhi health department said the death toll from coronavirus infection has risen to 416, and the total number of cases mounted to 18,549. (PTI)
Kerala's COVID-19 count rose to 1,208 today with 58 people including Air India Express's two pilots and five cabin crew and a health worker testing positive for the infection while 1.30 lakh are under observation in the state.
While the active cases have touched 624, a total of 575 people have been discharged after treatment, including 10 who were cured today, Health minister KK Shailaja said. (PTI)

A 58-year-old man died of COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar today, taking the death toll in the district to seven, the government-run hospital where he was admitted said. He is the first patient aged under 60 in the district who died of the deadly virus. (PTI)
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today announced a 4-week extension in the lockdown in Punjab, till June 30, with certain more relaxations, subject to the guidelines of the central government.
Though experts have advised against the opening of the hospitality industry and malls, the Chief Minister said the state would take into account the central government guidelines for Lockdown 5.0.
The government has allowed reopening of hotels and restaurants from June 8 in the fifth phase of the coronavirus-enforced lockdown which will last till June 30, as per fresh orders by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
As per a circular issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on May 30, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services will be allowed with effect from June 8.
