Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.64% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Coforge(up 0.57 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.

MPhasis(down 4.7 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 0.84 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.75 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.69 per cent) and Mindtree(down 0.45 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.64 per cent at 28250.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 64.45 points at 17628.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 249.01 points at 59451.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, Axis Bank and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tips Films Ltd., DC Infotech, Jindal Poly Investm, Gokul Agro Resources and AXISCADES Engineeri hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Delhivery Ltd., Kandarp Digi Smart BPO Ltd., Piramal Pharma Ltd., Bodhi Tree Multimed and Akshar Spintex hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
