Ricky Martin gets relief from Puerto Rican court, expresses excitement

In a relief for popular singer Ricky Martin, a court in Puerto Rico, archived a restraining order that was issued against the pop star. A judicial spokesperson said that the case was closed on Thursday. The order paved the way for Martin to perform.
The high-profile case has undoubtedly attracted the attention of both the masses and the media, but they have not received any details yet. Hours after the court had decided on the last day, Ricky Martin proclaimed himself a victim of lies from a relative. The celebrity himself failed to give any information, simply denying the charges against him for any wrong doing.
Later on, a video was released by his publicists, in which he revealed his feelings on the matter, saying that though it had been almost four decades that he had been working on stage in front of everyone, he had never in his life had to deal with anything remotely as close to painful as what he had been going through in the previous couple of weeks.

Information regarding the restraining order
At the beginning of July, a restraining order was issued against the Puerto Rican celebrity by a judge. It was filed under the island's domestic violence law, but any more details, such as by whom the order was requested, had not been provided by the police.

As for the case, on Thursday, it was told to The Associated Press by a judicial spokesperson, who had requested to be kept anonymous as required by the tribunal rules, that the case had been archived as the petitioner had ceased his claims voluntarily. Hence, there was no requirement for any further proceedings.

Hearing for the case
The case was due to be reviewed on Thursday for the hearing, in which both the sides took part in the hearing virtually within the room. Reporters were also waiting for the result.

What did the order contain?
After the issue of the restraining order, El Vocero, a Puerto Rican daily, stated that the order mentioned above said that Ricky Martin and his partner dated for seven months. Further, it also stated that the two had broken up a couple of months earlier. Still, as said by the petitioner, the Puerto Rican singer was against accepting it and had chosen to loiter near the petitioner's place thrice at the least. The Associated Press had not received a copy of the same order.

The outcome of the restraining order
Ricky Martin's legal team said on this account that the court did not extend the temporary protection order. They added that these claims made by the petitioner are incorrect and have not been supported by any proofs. They also said that Martin would be continuing his everyday life and advancing, resulting in righteousness in front of him.

Ricky Martin expressed excitement about performing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday and Saturday.
