Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.02% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:27AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Tata Motors(up 2.37 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.53 per cent) and TIINDIA(up 0.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Samvardhana Motherson International(down 2.22 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 1.09 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.75 per cent), Bosch(down 0.71 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.53 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.02 per cent at 12765.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 8.05 points at 18115.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 42.64 points at 60901.07.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, PNB, Vodafone Idea and Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Arihant Academy Ltd., Sterling Tools, Hisar Metal Ind, Trans & Rectif and Saksoft Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mercator, Venus Remedies, Music Broadcast, Kiri Industries and Relaxo Footwear hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
