Stock market update: Power stocks down; Tata Power loses over 2%

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading on a negative note at 02:29PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Tata Power Company (down 2.47 per cent), NTPC (down 2.43 per cent), ABB India Ltd (down 2.36 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 0.52 per cent) and Adani Power (down 0.27 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Adani Green (up 4.47 per cent), Thermax (up 1.82 per cent), KEC International (up 1.1 per cent), Adani Transmissions (up 0.41 per cent) and NHPC (up 0.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE Power index was trading 0.22 per cent down at 1692.78 around 02:29PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 3.85 points at 11337.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 13.98 points at 38371.16.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and Tata Motors (DVR) were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of IndiaMART InterMESH Ltd., Granules India, WABCO India, AstraZeneca and Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Jinaams Dress Ltd., Virgo Global Ltd., Emmsons International Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Shri Niwas Leasing and Finance Ltd. and Dharani Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
