Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: YES Bank(number of shares traded: 10.29 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 7.84 crore), PNB(number of shares traded: 3.57 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 3.19 crore), IOB(number of shares traded: 2.80 crore), Tata Steel(number of shares traded: 2.79 crore), Godha Cabcon & Insul(number of shares traded: 2.69 crore), Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd.(number of shares traded: 2.18 crore), South Indian Bnk(number of shares traded: 1.82 crore) and GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 1.64 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:16AM in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 4.95 points down at 18038.0, while BSE Sensex was down 85.91 points at 60571.54 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 2.93 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.80 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.74 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.74 per cent) and ITC Ltd.(up 1.64 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 6.83 per cent), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 4.52 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.56 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.28 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
