Stock market update: Capital Goods stocks advance; Graphite India jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Capital Goods stocks were trading higher at 12:48PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Graphite India (up 5.3 per cent), Lakshmi Machine Works (up 4.37 per cent), Hindustan Aeronautics (up 2.38 per cent), Havells India (up 1.81 per cent) and GMR Infrastructure (up 1.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While NBCC (India) (down 1.09 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.3 per cent), Grindwel Norton (down 0.17 per cent) and Honeywell Automation India (down 0.12 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.4 per cent up at 13979.83 around 12:48PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 70.45 points at 11317.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 222.34 points at 38273.12.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, Ashok Leyland and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Birlasoft, KIOCL Ltd., IOL Chemicals, Hatsun Agro and Amber Enterprises India Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Panth Infinity Ltd., Alliance Integrated Metaliks Ltd., Kuber Udyog Ltd., Unishire Urban Infra Ltd., City Pulse Multiplex Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd., Shivansh Finserve Ltd., Mitshi India Ltd., Sagar Diamonds Ltd. and N2N Technologies Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
