Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:19AM

KPI Green Energy(up 2.55%), NTPC(up 1.59%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 1.40%), Orient Green Power Company(up 1.32%), Karma Energy(up 0.87%), SJVN(up 0.87%), Voltamp Transformers(up 0.63%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 0.62%), Energy Development Company(up 0.52%) and ADANIGREEN(up 0.33%) were among the top gainers.

Jyoti Structures(down 4.93%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 1.96%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.44%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.42%), Torrent Power(down 0.85%), JSW Energy(down 0.76%), PTC India(down 0.70%), KEC International(down 0.67%), GE Power India Limited(down 0.66%) and Inox wind(down 0.61%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 24.0 points up at 18066.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 19.19 points at 60676.64 at around 10:19AM.

Britannia Industries(up 3.23%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 2.17%), ITC(up 1.99%), Nestle India(up 1.71%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.59%), NTPC(up 1.59%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.47%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.42%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.32%) and Hero MotoCorp(up 1.21%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 7.2%), Bajaj Finserv(down 5.29%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.63%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.49%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.58%), ICICI Bank(down 0.51%), Tata Steel(down 0.43%), Infosys(down 0.19%), Axis Bank(down 0.18%) and HDFC Bank(down 0.16%) were trading in the red.
