Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 1.1% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:00AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

IndusInd Bank(up 1.75 per cent), ICICI Bank(up 1.61 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.52 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.49 per cent) and HDFC Bank(up 1.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IDFCBANK(down 0.43 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 1.1 per cent at 34667.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 13.5 points at 16138.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 66.46 points at 54119.07.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., JP Power, SAIL, YES Bank and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Reliance Chemo, SP Refractories Ltd., Empyrean Cashews Ltd., Shanti Overseas(Ind and Kohinoor Foods hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Birla Tyres, Debock Sales & Mktg, Oriental Carbon, Dhampur Sugar and Kritika Wires hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
