Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.25% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index traded negative around 10:40AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Godrej Properties(up 0.86 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 0.8 per cent), Macrotech Developers(up 0.43 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 0.24 per cent) and DLF(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Phoenix Mills(down 2.52 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(down 1.54 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects(down 0.93 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Realty index was down 0.25 per cent at 416.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 64.55 points at 16151.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 178.44 points at 54216.79.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, HFCL and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Orient Bell, Akshar Spintex, PC Jeweller, DSJ Comm and Hubtown Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Arshiya, Suumaya Lifestyle, DRC Systems India Ltd., Sintex Plastics Tech and Viceroy Hotels hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
