Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 11:25AM

Gillette India(up 0.16%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.13%) and Bajaj Consumer(up 0.07%) were among the top gainers.

Vadilal Industries(down 7.24%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 3.49%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 3.47%), Emami(down 3.44%), Dabur India(down 3.34%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.96%), Nakoda Group(down 2.95%), Umang Dairies(down 2.78%), Dodla Dairy(down 2.64%) and Parag Milk(down 2.49%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 356.05 points down at 15884.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 1149.94 points at 53058.59 at around 11:25AM.

ITC(up 1.76%) and Eicher Motors(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 4.68%), HCL Technologies(down 4.46%), Infosys(down 4.4%), Wipro(down 4.34%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 4.24%), IndusInd Bank(down 4.06%), JSW Steel(down 3.91%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.85%), Tata Consultancy(down 3.65%) and Tata Steel(down 3.59%) were trading in the red.
