    Stocks in the news: HDFC Bank, NTPC, Titan, HCL Tech, Nykaa and Yes Bank

    Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 34.5 points, or 0.20 per cent lower at 17,281.5, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative start on Friday. Here are a dozen stocks which may buzz the most in today's trade:

    HDFC Bank: The private lender has completed over half of the digital transformation work it had undertaken over two years ago and is past the peak on tech spends as a percentage of the income. It can be noted that concerns on the digital front had led to an unprecedented penal action on the largest private sector lender from the RBI.

    HCL Technologies: The IT major has expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate digital services for enterprises. HCL Tech will train up to 18,000 technology and consulting professionals on Google Cloud.

    Titan: The Tata group firm said its overall sales grew 18 per cent year-on-year in the September quarter. The company, which operates in the segments as jewellery, watches & wearables, and eyecare has witnessed healthy double-digit growth across most businesses. Titan added 105 stores in its retail network in the second quarter of the current fiscal.

    NTPC: The state-owned power giant has roped in GE Gas Power to help it reduce carbon emissions at its 645 MW Kawas gas power plant in Gujarat. Both companies have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard.

    Britannia Industries: The leading bakery foods company has acquired a controlling stake in Kenya-based Kenafric Biscuits, a move which will help the company set up a manufacturing base and expand sales in the African markets. Britannia and Associates Dubai (BADCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Britannia has acquired a 51 per cent equity stake.

    Yes Bank: The Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Prashant Kumar as MD and CEO of the private lender for three years with effect from October 6, 2022. Earlier in July this year, the alternate Board of the private sector lender had recommended to the Reserve Bank of India for its approval.

    FSN E-commerce Ventures: Omni-channel beauty and lifestyle retailer Nykaa said it has signed an agreement with the Middle East's Apparel Group to recreate omni-channel beauty retail platform in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

    Macrotech Developers: The realty firm reported a 57 per cent increase in its sales bookings during the July-September quarter to Rs 3,148 crore on strong housing demand despite the rise in mortgage rate. Macrotech Developers, which sells its properties under the Lodha brand, is one of the leading real estate firms in the country.

    Quess Corp: The business services provider sold its entire stake in Simpliance Technologies to HR compliance services firm Aparajitha Corporate Services for an enterprise value of Rs 120 crore. Quess Corp has entered into definitive agreements to divest its stake in Simpliance to Aparajitha at an enterprise value of Rs 120 crore on a cash and debt free basis.

    HFCL: The domestic telecom gear maker has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies for design and development of 5G outdoor small cell products. In continuation with its 5G strategy, HFCL's investment in 5G Outdoor Small Cell products will enable faster rollout of 5G networks, improved 5G user experience and more efficient utilisation of 5G spectrum.

    Poonawalla Fincorp: The Adar Poonawalla-controlled non-banking finance company's total disbursements rose by 44 per cent during the second quarter of the current fiscal. Total disbursements were Rs 3,720 crore on a consolidated basis in the year-ago quarter. Sequentially, disbursements rose by 8 per cent in the July-September quarter.

    Ujjivan Small Finance Bank: The private lender recorded a 44 per cent growth in gross loan book at Rs 20,938 crore at the end of September 2022 driven by micro, affordable housing and individual borrowings. The bank said advances are up 22 per cent from Rs 14,514 crore as of September 2021 on the back of sustained growth in disbursement.

    Zuari Agro Chemicals: The agrochem player appointed Manish Malik as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel. The appointment of Manish Malik as CFO is with effect from October 6.

    Datamatics Global Services: The IT related services company in partnership with Scan-Optics to help enterprises optimise business performance. Datamatics, and Scan-Optics, a leader in intelligent data management and digital transformation, have entered into a partnership to help organisations enhance automation of business operations.

    Future Retail: The resolution professional of cash-strapped firm has invited 'expression of interest' from prospective buyers under the ongoing Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process. All interested and eligible prospective resolution applicants for FRL are required to submit an expression of interest for the resolution plan by October 20, 2022.

    Indian Hume Pipe Company: The EPC company has received Letter of Acceptance for the work of Rs 194.03 crore from Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Division, Buldhana, Maharashtra, under Jal Jeevan Mission Project for Jalgaon Jamod 150 Villages Regional Rural Water Supply Scheme.

    Mitsu Chem: The molding plastic packaging products has announced capacity expansion and launch of new product pail containers to cater to the lubricant, paints, ink, food (FMCG) industry. The new capacity addition has enhanced the capacity by 1,650 MTPA from the existing 23,377 MTPA.
