Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 1.11% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:10AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Punjab National Bank(up 1.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bank of Baroda(down 2.44 per cent), Axis Bank(down 1.43 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 1.43 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 1.34 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 1.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 1.11 per cent at 40746.4 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 96.65 points at 17621.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 313.34 points at 59143.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Brand Concepts L, Servotech Power Syst, Remsons Ind, Royal Orchid and Autoline Ind hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FutureLifestyleFash, Finolex Inds., Hind Oil Expl, SIS India and Zensar Tech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
