Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.84% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:14AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Punjab National Bank(down 2.01 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 1.42 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank(down 1.42 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.4 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 1.34 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.84 per cent at 42223.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 110.6 points at 17990.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 398.11 points at 60349.2.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of 3P Land Holdings, RKEC Projects, Geekay Wires, Varanium Cloud Ltd. and Homesfy Realty Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Jyoti Structure, MT Educare, Nureca Ltd., Goenka Diamond and Vodafone Idea hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
