How has Jhunjhunwala's consistent top six bets performed in the last one decadeAgencies
New Delhi: As Dalal Street participants mourn the death of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, many see him as a prime figure for investment ideas.

Jhunjhunwala had his own cult following and his disciples looked up to his moves. The avid trader was also a successful long-term investor. In the last decade of his life, he held at least six stocks for a minimum of 10 years, which delivered up to 1,000 per cent returns. Out of these six, two delivered negative returns, eroding more than half his wealth, Ace Equity data suggests. The study also includes the stakes held by his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala and the ones the duo owned jointly.

Interestingly, Rakesh Jhunjhwala kept on rejigging his stake in these companies periodically. But his stake did not fall below one per cent in any one of them on a quarterly basis, according to the shareholding patterns of these companies on the BSE.

Agro Tech Foods, another pick from his portfolio, jumped 72 per cent during the last one decade. However, his holding in the company surged to 8.2 per cent in the quarter ended June 30, 2022, from 2.99 per cent in June 30, 2012.

Among the companies that wiped out more than half of their wealth in the last one decade are Autoline Industries and Bilcare, which dropped 53 per cent and 58 per cent, respectively.
