Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index up 1%; Lakshmi Vilas Bank surges 10%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading with gains at 01:50PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Sunflag Iron (up 11.65 per cent), Genus Power Infrastructures (up 10.0 per cent), Lakshmi Vilas Bank (up 9.84 per cent), Nava Bharat Ventures (up 7.5 per cent) and Suven Life Sciences (up 7.41 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While MIRC Electronics (down 4.99 per cent), MEP (down 4.96 per cent), GVK Power & Infrastructure (down 4.92 per cent), Sintex Industries (down 4.91 per cent) and Reliance Communications (down 4.59 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.06 per cent up at 14454.15 around 01:50PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 106.75 points at 11384.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 430.08 points at 38624.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, SBI and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of RIL (PP), RIL, Adani Gas Ltd., Laurus Labs Ltd. and Granules India hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mauria Udyog Ltd., 7NR Retail Ltd., Darjeeling Ropeway Company Ltd., Panth Infinity Ltd., Innovative Ideals and Services (India) Ltd., Zodiac Ventures Ltd., Darshan Orna Ltd., Saffron Industries Ltd., Leading Leasing Finance and Investment Company Ltd. and Libord Finance Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
