Stock market update: BSE MidCap index falls nearly 1%; Info Edge drops over 4%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE MidCap index was trading lower at 01:53PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Info Edge (India) (down 4.44 per cent), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance (down 4.29 per cent), Vodafone Idea (down 3.93 per cent), Shriram Transport Finance (down 3.22 per cent) and MPhasis (down 3.09 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While JSW Energy (up 4.9 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (up 3.1 per cent), SJVN (up 2.16 per cent), Cummins India (up 2.03 per cent) and Indraprastha Gas (up 1.53 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 0.92 per cent down at 14590.71 around 01:53PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 185.55 points at 11785.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 690.22 points at 40104.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Alok Industries, Federal Bank and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Oracle Fin, SBI Cards, Hero MotoCorp, Asian Paints and Lakshmi Machine hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., Uniply Industries Ltd., A & M Febcon Ltd., Pazel International Ltd., Real Touch Finance Ltd., Vikas Proppant & Granite Ltd., Ishaan Infrastructures & Shelters Ltd., Advik Capital Ltd., Agio Paper & Industries Ltd. and Galaxy Cloud Kitchens Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
