Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.85% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:26AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Escorts Kubota(up 4.75 per cent), Tata Motors(up 2.19 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.84 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.73 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 1.62 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Eicher Motors(down 2.34 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.31 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.85 per cent at 12987.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 83.95 points at 17606.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 266.7 points at 59041.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, RBL Bank, Tata Steel, PNB and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Syrma SGS Technology Ltd., Fidel Softech Ltd., Mazagon Dock Ship, Agni Green Power Ltd. and Medicamen Bio hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while GVK Power Infra, Veekayem Fashion & Apparels Ltd., Sportking India, Jet Freight Logistic and Future Enterprises hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
