Share market update: Auto shares mixed; TVS Motor down 2%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday's session.

Shares of Balkrishna Industries (up 3.56 per cent) , Exide Industries (up 1.82 per cent) , Mahindra & Mahindra (up 1.11 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.07 per cent) , Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.89 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (up 0.58 per cent) , MRF (up 0.58 per cent) and Bosch (up 0.51 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While TVS Motor Company (down 2.0 per cent) , Bajaj Auto (down 1.67 per cent) , Hero MotoCorp (down 1.47 per cent) , Eicher Motors (down 1.44 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (down 1.22 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 0.96 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.03 per cent down at 7285.5 around 02:19PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 16.15 points at 11086.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 81.98 points at 37654.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SBI, YES Bank, Alok Industries, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Indian Oil Corp, ICICI Bank, RIL and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
